At this point in our cake-venture, Mercutio and I had already seen 11 cakes, and we were in need of a little break in the excitement…ok, maybe that was just me…and Cake #75 at Citygarden in downtown St. Louis was the perfect way to recharge ourselves for the rest of the journey ahead. Plus our trip to see the magical land of sculptures happened to coincide perfectly with an apparent Easter egg extravaganza that was still strewn about near the sculptures which definitely added some color to the already gorgeous landscape.
Citygarden is a free park, open to the public that boasts 24 different sculptures from various artists (or only 23 depending on which source you find most reliable…). And the cake artist who dreamed up this particular cake decided to add as many representations of those sculptures to his cake as possible.
While Mercutio connected with a cute little bird with fancy shoes, I found myself on the verge of another great idea ….have you checked out my Seven Word Stories Blog yet?? Mercutio’s bird and this falling woman are among two of the sculptures and landscapes from across St. Louis that have inspired me to write quick, concise Seven Word Stories about them.
Citygarden is more than packed with enough sculptures to keep any adventure seeker satisfied for a few hours. Mercutio and myself spent quite a lot of time there ourselves and didn’t even see half of what the park has to offer.
So as we took our final selfie with the cake and checked the box for Cake #75, I was even lucky enough to find a surprise Mercutio selfie on my camera after our day had ended.
